11/8/2003 CV Boys Fall in State Polo Tournament
CV fell short in its bid for a state title by falling to McDowell 7-11 in a deciding third game of polo play. They had previously defeated Governor Mifflin 13-7 and narrowly lost to North Penn 9-10. Marko Cebalovic paced CV with 8 tournament goals while Josh Sunday and Sean Casella had 7 each. Also scoring were Dylan Drudul, Andy Negley, Mike McCormick and Jon Gorski. Goalie Justin Kassab had a fine tournament with 43 saves. Josh Sunday and Marko Cebalovic were named as First Team All-State members, while Sean Casella made Third Team and Justin Kassab received an Honorable Mention spot.

11/1/2003 CV Girls Water Polo Wins State Title
The Cumberland Valley girls won their second consecutive state title Saturday with a 7-6 victory over Wilson High School; getting 3 goals each from Holly Travous and Laura Knepp. Aubrey Rowe scored the remaining goal and added 8 steals. CV built leads of 4-1 and 7-4 before holding on and finishing the season with a 20-1 record. Showing their best overall team play all season, CV defeated Pottsville 13-6, North Allegheny 15-3, and Souderton 12-8 leading into the finals. Holly Travous led CV scorers in the tournament with 16 goals, while Aubrey Rowe (7 goals), Emily Campbell (6 goals), Jenna Easter (5 goals) and Laura Knepp (4 goals) rounded out the high scorers. Also scoring were Katie Povirk, Anna Leggett, Jessica Easter, Emily St. Omer Roy, Alex Fatua, and Tracy Sutphen. Goalie Kristi Koplin led the defense with 34 saves. Included as the top ten players in the state and first team selections were Holly Travous, Aubrey Rowe, and Kristi Koplin. Jenna Easter (2nd
Team), Katie Povirk (3rd Team) and Emily Campbell (Honorable Mention) were also all-state selections. Making the all-freshman team were Jess Easter, Tracy Sutphen and Kristen Spector. The CV boys begin their quest for a state title Friday November 7 and Saturday November 8 at the Cumberland Valley pool. Admission is open to the public and sold at the door.

10/23/2003 CV Girl's Water Polo Team Falls
The Cumberland Valley girls polo team lost it's final game of the season 10-12 to Pottsville. After falling behind 1-3 in the first quarter, CV rallied to tie the game at 7-7 when Aubrey Rowe scored with 28 seconds left in regulation. CV gained the lead 8-7 before Pottsville pulled away late in the overtime period. Aubrey Rowe led the girls with 5 goals, Holly Travous scored 2, while Emily Campbell, Laura Knepp and Jenna Easter scored one each. The CV boys rolled to a 17-11 victory getting 7 scores from Josh Sunday and 6 goals from Marko Cebalovic. Also scoring were Andy Negley, Mike McCormick and Sheelen Patel.

10/18/2003 CV Girls Sweep Mifflin Tournament
The Cumberland Valley girls won all three games at the Governor Mifflin Tournament defeating Wyoming Valley West 12-3, Upper Merion 12-1 and Souderton 10-6. Holly Travous led the scoring with 13 goals while Emily Campbell and Aubrey Rowe had 5 scores each. Also scoring were Rachel Sunday, Laura Knepp, Emily St. Omer Roy, Anna Leggett, Tracy Sutphen and Dana Blomquist. Goalie Kristi Koplin had 16 saves. The CV boys beat Wyoming Valley West 14-8 and Upper Merion 17-6 before falling to Souderton 9-14. Marko Cebalovic led the scoring with 15 goals while Josh Sunday had 6, and Sean Casella scored 5 goals. Also scoring goals were Dylan Drudul, Sheelen Patel, Andy Negley, Mike McCormick, Brad DeWalt and Tony Lauro. Justin Kassab recorded 21 saves in the goal.

10/14/2003 CV Water Polo Bests Governor Mifflin
The Cumberland Valley girls rode the inside power game of Holly Travous with 9 goals to beat Governor Mifflin 14-4. Also Scoring were Laura Knepp, Aubrey Rowe, Emily St. Omer Roy and Tracy Sutphen. The CV boys won 10-6 behind 4 goals by Marko Cebalovic and 3 scores from Josh Sunday. Sean Casella and Mike McCormick rounded out the scoring. Goalie Justin Kassab had a solid game with 12 saves. The CV boys defeated Reading High School 15-6 last Thursday getting goals from Justin Kassab, Tony Lauro, Jeremy Wright, Sheelen Patel, Steve Downing, Brad Dewalt, and Kyle Fromm.

10/03/2003 CV Water Polo Girls Top Erie
The Cumberland Valley girls remained undefeated with a 4th quarter comeback over Erie McDowell. Last quarter goals by Emily Campbell, Holly Travous and Aubrey Rowe pushed CV to a 7-5 victory. Rowe and Travous led CV with 3 goals each. The CV boys dropped both of their games, losing 6-8 to Erie McDowell and 5-8 to Erie Cathedral Prep. Scoring for CV were Sean Casella, Marko Cebalovic, Josh Sunday, Dylan Drudul, Andy Negley and Mike McCormick. Goalie Justin Kassab had a combined 20 saves.

10/02/2003 CV Water Polo Escapes Wilson
The Cumberland Valley men and women's water polo teams scored one goal decisions over Wilson High School. The men built a 7-3 third quarter lead then held on to win 7-6. Marko Cebalovic led CV with 3 goals and 8 steals. Also scoring were Mike McCormick, Andy Negley, Sean Casella and Josh Sunday. Justin Kassab recorded 6 saves as goalie. On the women's side, Aubrey Rowe scored both fourth quarter goals to help CV in a come from behind 6-5 victory. Rowe finished with 3 scores and 7 steals while Holly Travous had 8 steals and a goal. Also scoring were Laura Knepp and Jenna Easter. Goalie Kristi Koplin had 6 saves.

09/30/2003 CV Water Polo Defeats Pottsville
The Cumberland Valley boys defeated Pottsville 22-13 behind 7 goals from Marko Cebalovic and 5 each from Sean Casella and Josh Sunday. Also scoring were Dylan Drudul, Andy Negley, Jon Gorski and Brad DeWalt. The CV girls wore down Pottsville after halftime with a 18-6 victory. Holly Travous led the way with 6 goals, while Aubrey Rowe and Jenna Easter each had 4. Also scoring were Emily Campbell, Laura Knepp, Rachel Sunday and Jessica Easter. Goalie Kristi Koplin recorded 10 saves.

09/20/2003 CV Polo Girls win Beast of the East Tournament
CV goalie Kristi Koplin blocked a penalty shot in the last minute of overtime and Rachel Sunday supplied the heroics with a quick goal in sudden death overtime as CV escaped Wilson H.S. in the championship game 3-2. The girls defeated Villa Maria 13-2, the Hill School 15-3 and Pottsville 14-6 in earlier games. Leading scorers for the tournament were Holly Travous with 16 goals; while Aubrey Rowe and Rachael Sunday had 7 scores each. Also scoring were Laura Knepp, Jenna Easter, Emily St.Omer Roy, and Jess Easter. All Tournament Team selections were Kristi Koplin, who was also named female MVP of the tournament, Holly Travous, Jenna Easter, Aubrey Rowe and Rachel Sunday. The CV boys defeated Reading 10-6, The Hill School 9-3, and Greenwich "B" 8-5 before losing to Eastern water polo power Greenwich, Conn. "A" team 10-14 in the semi-finals. Marko Cebalovic led CV with 19 goals while Josh Sunday had 6 scores. Also finding the net were Mike
McCormick, Andy Negley, Dylan Drudul, Sean Casella, Jon Gorski, Jeremy Wright and Justin Kassab. Goalie Justin Kassab had 29 total saves and was named to the All Tournament team along with Josh Sunday and Marko Cebalovic.

09/16/2003 CV Water Polo Tops Governor Mifflin
The CV boy's water polo team escaped a tough Governor Mifflin team 10-9 at CVHS. Marko Cebalovic lead the scoring with 5 goals, while Sean Casella had a fine overall game with 2 scores, 2 assists and 8 steals. Also scoring were Andy Negley, Josh Sunday and Brad Gorter. The CV girls cruised to a 16-6 victory. Leading scorers were Emily St. Omer Roy with 4 goals, Rachel Sunday with 3 scores, 2 goals each by Laura Knepp, Jenna Easter and Jesse Easter. Aubrey Rowe had 2 goals, 4 assists and 8 steals, while Holly Travous had 6 steals and one score.

09/13/2003 CV Water Polo Sweeps Tournament
Cumberland Valley men's and women's water polo teams swept Wissahickon, Upper Perkiomen and North Penn at CV's crossover tournament on Saturday. Multiple scorers on the boys side include Marko Cebalovic with 17 goals and Dylan Drudul with 5 scores. Sean Casella and Josh Sunday had 4 each. Andy Negley, Brad Gorter and Sheelen Patel had 3 scores apiece. Also scoring were Mike McCormick, Jon Gorski and Tony Lauro. The girls were led by Aubrey Rowe with 8 scores, Holly Travous(5 goals) and Rachael Sunday(5 goals). Scoring 3 goals each were Jenna and Jess Easter, Emily Campbell, and Emily St. Omer Roy. Also scoring were Laura Knepp and Jackie Keiser. Goalie Kristi Koplin had several athletic stops in recording 13 saves.

09/09/2003 CV Water Polo Men Take Reading
CV Men's Water Polo team overwhelmed Reading High School 21-6 Tuesday night in Reading. CV was led by Marko Cebalovic with 7 goals and Josh Sunday with 5. Mike McCormick, Sean Casella and Brad Gorter tallied two scores each while Dylan Drudul, Ricky Rudock and goalie Justin Kassab had one goal apiece. Both men's and women's teams compete Saturday at CVHS in a 5 team crossover tournament beginning at 9:00 a.m.

09/04/2003 CV Water Polo Sweeps Wilson
Cumberland Valleys men's water polo team erased over 25 years worth of frustration with a 13-7 victory over Wilson High School. Josh Sunday and Marko Cebalovic each scored 5 goals to power CV to it's first ever win against Wilson. Also scoring were Andy Negley, Sean Casella and Brad Gorter. Goalie Justin Kassab recorded 7 saves in his debut. The defending state champion CV women opened a 2nd period lead and held on to defeat Wilson 8-6. Senior Holly Travous led CV's attack with 4 goals while Aubrey Rowe, Emily Campbell, Jenna Easter and Katie Povirk each scored. Goalie Kristi Koplin had 8 saves.
